Letters intended to go by this route should be posted not later than the Wednesday in each week, so as to mulch the fast Ramsian Boat from Shanghai to Dalny which leaves Shanghai every Sunday.

To illustrate the vastrope of the work the following facts rasa bedfor consideration :-- Chalmer Vocabulary outains about 16,000- Chinese characters, and ledhurst's English and Chines Dictionary at 100,000 whilst this work equtains more the 50,000 English words and upwards of 600,0. Chinese characters Again, despite all the grammars and other elementary works as y published, the student of this difficult langus absolutely requires ex-- amples to display the arious applications and equivalents of differen words which have one general meaning. Othese examples this work contains more than 9 times as many as any other Dictionary hithto published.

For practical purge the arrangement of the work is to complete ta reference to its pagos enables a person whanderstands English to sommunicate effective with natives who under stand nothing but Close.
