Injury of early fruit by frost is thought by M. Bot des linierts to be a result of rapid heating by the sun of the plants made sensitive by cold. French riticulturists are planning to try also the firing of cannon bezizontally over the ground on the approach of frost, a ptrip of vineyard 500 feet wide having been thus saved from damage when vines on both sides were badly injured."
