Statistics on inspections to buildings by FSD
Following are a question by the Hon John Tse Wing-ling and a written reply by the acting Secretary for Security, Mrs Carrie Yau, in the Legislative Council today (Wednesday):
Question:
Will the Government inform this Council of the following in each of the past five years:

the respective numbers of commercial and residential buildings inspected by the Fire Services Department in each district; and
the respective numbers of commercial and residential buildings found to be in breach of the relevant regulations in each district; together with a breakdown by district of the number of warning letters issued to the owners concerned requiring them to adopt improvement measures, and the number of prosecutions instituted against the offending owners?
The numbers of inspections to commercial and residential buildings carried out by the Fire Services Department (FSD) in each of its command areas in the past five years are as follows:
