Tenders invited for works in Ma On Shan and Lantau

The Architectural Services Department is inviting tenders for construction projects in Ma On Shan and Lantau Island.
The project in Ma On Shan Area 92 is for the construction of Sports Complex Phase 1. which will include a sportsground with a covered 1,500-seat spectator stand and associated drainage works.
Works will commence in June for completion in about two years' time.
The project on Lantau Island covers the construction of Pa Mei North Village Resite at Tung Chung Road, together with associated drainage and external works.
The Resite will comprise 48 three-storey village houses and a three-storey village hall.
Works are expected to begin in June for completion in October 1997.

Submarine cable between Sha Chau and Lung Kwu Chau proposed
The Governor-in-Council has approved the installation of a submarine cable within an area of about 247,000 square metre of foreshore and sea-bed between Sha Chau and Lung Kwu Chau to provide permanent electricity supply to a Civil Aviation Department (CAD) navigational aid station at Lung Kwu Chau.
A government spokesman said today (Friday) that the work would be carried out in two phases.
