Professor Felice LIEH-MAK.

Prof Lieh-Mak is Professor in the Department of Psychiatry in the Hong Kong University's Faculty of Medicine. In addition to her academic work, Prof Lieh-Mak has been very active in the fields of social welfare and rehabilitation for the mentally handicapped. She has been a member of the Social Welfare Advisory Committee since 1986 and Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Social Work Training and Manpower Planning since 1987.

Mr Anthony William NICOLLE

Mr Nicolle joined the Hong Kong Government on secondment from the Bank of England in May 1987 and became Commissioner of Banking later that year. He has been responsible for introducing reforms to the regulatory system to conform with the standards required by Hong Kong as

an international financial centre. He has also been instrumental in improving auditing standards. He leaves the Government service later this year at the end of

the end of his period of secondment.

Mr John Albert THORPE, QPM, CPM

Mr Thorpe joined the Royal Hong Kong Police in 1960 and was promoted to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police in 1988 on appointment as Director of Special Branch. Almost all his service has been spent in Special Branch and the Criminal Investigation Department and he has led or taken part in many major investigations. He was awarded the Colonial Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 1978 and the Queen's Police Medal in 1984.

The Honourable Andrew WONG Wang-fat, JP

Mr Wong joined the Sha Tin District Board in 1981. In 1985 he was elected to the Legislative Council from the New Territories (East) Electoral College Constituency. Mr Wong was re-elected in 1988, He is the Convenor of the OMELCO Standing Panel on Constitutional Development and has been deeply involved in matters connected with the constitutional development. of Hong Kong. He has also served as a member of nine other OMELCO standing panels. Outside the Legislative Council he is involved in a large number of public service and community activities.
