markedly successful in winning acceptance for the much safer watergel group of explosives. He planned and, to a large extent, motivated the move to manufacture these explosives here and to establish a manufacturing plant in 1980. In essence his out- standing contribution has been to the safe handling of explosives and overseeing the correct practice for blasting in Hong Kong. His care and supervision have had a great influence on Hong Kong's explosives safety record.
Mr. Geoffrey YEH Meou-tsen
Mr. Yeh is the Chairman of the Construction Industry Training Authority, Vice-President of the Society of Builders and a member of the Hong Kong Training Council, Provisional Construction Industry Training Authority Board of Management, Hong Kong Tourist Association, Advisory Committee on Environmental Pollution and Town Planning Board, among other public bodies. He has directly contributed the successful operation of the Construction Industry Training Centre and put considerable effort into planning a second construction industry training centre. He is also a member of a Training Council working party on implementation of industry-wide training schemes which will assist various industries to upgrade their products, to diversify,

Mr. Stephen YOW Mok-shing, JP
Mr. Yow began his service to the community when he joined Yan Chai Hospital in 1974 as a director, where he continued to be Vice-Chairman until 1975-76.
