Mr. Alan Harley WILKINS, JP
Mr. Wilkins was first appointed a pupil engineer in 1951 and
became an Engineer in 1953. He was promoted Principal Government Engineer
in 1973 and appointed Director of Mass Transit Studies the same year. As
Mass Transit Adviser, he has responsibility for resumption and clearance of
land for the MTR Scheme, monitoring progress of construction, advising on
proposals for extending the system, and for related administrative and
technical policies and programmes.
Mr. Wilkins' exemplary service as the main co-ordinator of the
Government's input to the project is held in high regard by all concerned.

Mr. Howard Robert Acheson CHAMBERLAIN
Mr. Chamberlain was first appointed in 1954 and promoted to Chief
Engineer in September 1968.
His knowledge and professional experience in marine engineering
and port works, including land reclamation and the design, construction and
maintenance of piers, sea-walls, breakwaters and other associated structures,
has been of great value to the Public Works Department.
Mr. Chamberlain has made a significant contribution in the context
of marine engineering work connected with the continuing development of Hong
Kong. He will be retiring in 1980,

Mr. CHAO Shao-an
