Constable and progressed through the ranks to reach Chief Inspector of Police in 1974. Since his promotion to C.I.P. (Aux), he has served as the Second in Command of Special Duty Company, Kowloon East (Auxiliary).

He has been largely instrumental in the maintenance of a high standard

of internal security training and related skills in his unit and the

excellent discipline of his subordinates. Mr. Cheung was awarded the

CSCM in 1967 and the First Clasp to CSCH in 1977.

Mr. Dennis John COLLINS

Mr. Collins joined the Royal Hong Kong Police Force in April

1959 as a Sub-Inspector and served in the Uniform Branch and in the Special Branch. In 1977 he was appointed to act as Senior Superintendent

of Police in command of the Force Complaints Against Police Unit and charged with the responsibility of reorganising the Complaints Office, in addition to introducing procedures for the working of the UELCO Police

Complaints Group.

It has since been necessary to expand the role of the Complaints Against Police Office and it is largely through his efforts that the Office

efficiently established and that a harmonious relationship

has been

has been achieved with the UMELCO Complaints Group.

Mr. Michael George HAMMETT

Mr. Hammett joined the foyal Hong Kong Police Force in 1959 end

after service in various formations of the Force was posted to Special

Branch in 1968. He was promoted to Superintendent in 1971, Senior

Superintendent in 1977 and Chief Superintendent in 1978.

His service throughout has been characterised by exemplary

conduct and devotion to duty. He has proved himself to be an energetic and resourceful commander, whose leadership and ability have contributed

much to the successful achievement of Special Branch's ains.
