PRIZE GIVING TO WINNERS OF
RICORDED PLAYS IN CHINESE COMPÉTITION
A prize-giving ceremony for the inter-school competition on recorded
plays in chinese for intermediate classes in primary schools will take place
on Thursday (September 29) afternoon at the Chinese Language Teaching Centre,
Ma Tau Kok Government Offices.
The competition, organized by the Chinese Language Teaching Centre,
is aimed at encouraging schools to place greater emphasis on speech training
and extra-curricular activities in connection with Chinese language teaching.
About 100 people, including school heads and pupils of the participating
schools, are expected to attend the ceremony during which the Deputy Director of
Education (Professional), Mr. Ho Nga-ming will distribute the prizes,
The scripts of the plays were limited to stories and materials based
on texts for Chinese language in Primary 3 and 4, so as to stimulate more
interest among school children in learning the language,
According to the Senior Inspector of the Chinese Language Teaching
Centre, the standard of all the entries for this competition was very high.
All recorded tapes submitted by participating schools are now kept in
the centre for the reference of all primary school teachers. Schools wishing
to have the tapes dubbed are advised to apply direct to the centre.
