COUTATION OF DEATH SENTENCE

The Governor, after taking into consideration the advice of the

Executive Council, has decided that the death sentence passed on Ho So-kuen

on December 17, 1976, should be commuted to life imprisonment.

Ho was found guilty of the murder of Wong Fat-nip.

PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION IN CENTRAL AND WESTERN DISTRICT

A photographic competition is being jointly organised by the

City District Office (Central and Western), Mid-levels (Western) Area

Committee and the Asaki Photographic Supplies.

The theme of the competition is "Modern and Historical Features

of Central and Western District" and the objective is to promote interest

in photography among the residents of Central and Western district.

Entries of black and white or coloured prints of sizes ranging

from 8" X 10" to 16" X 20", should reach the following offices not later

than October 22:

City District Office (Central and Western),

• CDO Enquiry Sub-office, G/F Central Government Offices

(West Wing); and

Pentax Camera Club, 27, Ashley Road, Chiap Lee Building,

Kowloon.

There will be 13 prizes including valuable cameras and watches

to be given away in addition to cash awards ranging from $100 to $300.
