DRAGON BOAT DINNER IN LONDON
The Hong Kong Association held a "Dragon Boat" dinner at
Savoy Hotel in London on Thursday (June 23) night.
HRH, the Duke of Kent was the guest of honour and spoke
Others who spoke were Dr. the Hon. Herry Fang and

The following is the full text of the Duke's speech:-
"If I had needed any encouragement to accept your invitation
to come to this dinner I should have found it I think in the discovery
that this is your fourth Dragon Doat Dinner a fact which made me
-
doubly pleased to accept. Not only do I have the happiest memories
of my own time in Hong Kong but I also as a former participant in one
of those dragon boat races have the clearest recollection of paddling
our boat at least it started as paddling, but we finished by pushing
it, up to our necks in murky water, across Taipo Harbour.
"That was 14 years ago but the impressions formed then are
as crystal sharp, as if it were last week. I assure you that you
have done ne a great honour in inviting me to join such a distinguished
