Statistics are set out in appendices where the reader can see
at a glance how much or how many in relation to more than 40 subjects
including international trade, basketball courts, money in the banks,
schools and examination results, the cost of living, letters and parcels
posted, crime, traffic casualties, fish caught and poultry raised.
The book has been produced by Government Information Services
and was edited by Joyce Savidge, a Senior Information Officer and the
yearbook's first woman editor. The Creative Director of GIS, Arthur
Hacker, designed the book and nearly all the pictures were taken by 315
photographers.
The Chinese version has been prepared by a team of Chinese language
officers in the Home Affairs Department, under the supervision of G. Louie
Yun-tao.
More than 31,000 copies in English and Chinese have been printed
by the Government Printer for simultaneous publication tomorrow.
