ADDITIONAL OFFICES FOR CHEUNG SHA WAN ABATTOIR
Five more offices will be added to the Cheung Sha Wan Abattoir
in Kowloon shortly to cope with the increase in the number of staff.
The rooms are to be built on the roof of the existing
refrigeration block.
Adjoining these new offices will be a room where lockers and
changing facilities will be provided.
A spokesman for the Urban Services Department said: "With
the increase of workload in the slaughtering services, more health
inspectors and workers have been posted at the abattoir, and expansion
of office accommodation is, therefore, necessary."
The expansion work, estimated to cost about $145,000, is
expected to begin in October and will take about five months to complete.
