HONG KONG TO ATTEND INDUSTRIAL MEETING
Mr. R. Porter, Assistant Director of Commerce and Industry, will
represent Hong Kong at the eighth session of the Asian Industrial Development
Council (A.I.D.C.).
The meeting is to be held under the auspices of the Economic
Commission for Asia and the Far East (E.C.A.F.E.).
Mr. Porter will be accompanied by Mr. W.Y.H. Kwok, Trade Officer
of the Commerce and Industry Department.
The meeting will be held in Bangkok from February 1 to 7..
It will consider reports prepared by various fact-finding missions
on possible areas of co-ordination anong E.C.A.F.E. countries in some
of the key industries of the region.
The Council will also consider a report on investment promotion
and the transfer of technology to developing E.C.A.F.E. countries.
Other subjects concerning industrial standards and industrial
research will also be discussed.

Mr. Porter and Mr. Kwok will leave for Bangkok on Wednesday (January 31)
by flight CX 701, E.T.D. 1605 hours.
