Fred Corcoran, organisor of the

Canada Cup and manager of top American golfers for the post 30 years, has been described as golf's greatest showman.

He is already planning next year's battle of the nations in Buenos Aires, and believes that golf so far has only touched the fringe of public appeal. Here he talks man- to-man with the China Mail's special correspondent Jock Wood, who has just returned from reporting the Walker Cup match in Seattle.
