FANTASTIC GAMES SWIMMING

Winners of 400m freestyle heats all break the Olympic record

Rome, Aug. 30, Fantastic! That is the only description for the men's 400 metres free-style swimming heats today at the 17th Olympic Games. Every heat winner, including Japan's T. Yamanaka, smashed the previous Olympic record, and one runner-up, Japan's Makoko Fukui, also beat it.

Tomorrow night's final promises to be the race of the Games.

The previous record was held coming the first woman to win

by Australia's Murray Rose in
