London, April 16. The stock market closed mixed today as prices moved narrowly in `quiet trading.

Industrials continued to be in moal favour by investors in the wake of a spate of good com- pany reports

Mators, textiles, stores and newspaper and newsprin! stucks

Engineering issuer | were fan. met selective deinand but steel stocks tended to case. Except for improvement In Unilever, were mostly blue-chip stocks neglected.

Clit-edge stocks were quiet and mixed.

Gold stocks, were mostly arm but

continued to lose coppers
