Club And Navy Win Opening Games Of Hexangular Tourney

By PAK LO

The Club on Saturday afternoon had their supporters shaking in their

shoes, and chewing frantically at their nails. After leading by nine points (two tries, one penalty goal) to nil and with only ten minutes to go they suddenly slackened their defence, and the Army South XV, swinging into the attack, scored a goal (five points). In the last few minutes they seemed certain to score again, but somehow the Club defence managed to hold, and the Club left the field the de- serving victors without further scoring.

The standard of play was astonishingly low and the ghosts of those who have worn the colours of these two famous old teams in the titanic struggles of the years gone by must have cringed at the sour soccer spectacle which the current representatives served up yesterday.
