The Club on Saturday afternoon had their supporters shaking in their
shoes, and chewing frantically at their nails. After leading by nine points (two tries, one penalty goal) to nil and with only ten minutes to go they suddenly slackened their defence, and the Army South XV, swinging into the attack, scored a goal (five points). In the last few minutes they seemed certain to score again, but somehow the Club defence managed to hold, and the Club left the field the de- serving victors without further scoring.

Oh, these tame toothless Tigers. South China emerged winners over Sing Tao by three goals to one at Carolina Hill yester- drab drama- day but if ever there was a dull starved occasion this was it.
