Tokyo, Dec. 5. Japan, smarting from design piracy charges, hurled at her by Britain and the U.S., is accusing two Hongkong plastic makers of pirating a Japanese design.

In the Japanese piracy charge, an Osaka plastics manufacturer, Yoshiro Shibata of the Shibata Plastic Company, has filed a protest with the British Embassy in Tokyo. He claimed that an all-plastic slipper designed and manufactured by his company is being imitated by two Hongkong plastic makers, causing "great damage" to his company.

He charged that his patented all-plastic slipper design

was "pirated" by two Hongkong firms.

Due to the manufacture and sale of similar slippers by

the Hongkong makers, Shibata claimed, his pany's exports, which amounted to 4,600 dozen slippers a year in the past, had been reduced to only about 200 dozen.
