New York, Apr. 23.
Some good business headlines were reflected in a vigorous stock market rise today—a rise which lifted stocks to mid-January levels on in- creased activity.
Steels, oils and a host of selected specialties ran up 2 points to more than 6 points. Rails got into action late in the session and final gains rang- ing to 2 points. Utilities continued upward under the lead of Peoples Gas which picked up than 3 points.
