In London today a Foreign Office spokesman said Britain was "deeply disappointed" by Red China's rejection of the UN invitation. No further comment was made but it is clear Sir Winston Churchill and the Commonwealth Premiers are to hold emergency talks tomorrow (Friday) on the new situation. It is expected that Mr Nehru will put forward a plan that which calling for a Geneva-type conference such succeeded in ending the Indo-China war.
