Shepheard's Hotel Will Rise Again On A New Site
Cairo, July 14.
THE CHINA MAIL, THURSDAY, JULY 15, 1954.
Shepheard's Hotel, destroyed in the great fire here during riots in January, 1952 which resulted from tension over the Suez, is being rebuilt.
Work on the foundations of the famous hotel, where it was said that the East shook hands with the West, has started. The old Shepheard's, a low rambling building, was in heart of Calro.
