MACAO BEATS HONGKONG
2-1 TO REGAIN INTERPORT HOCKEY CUP
Macao regained the Spalding Interport Hockey Cup and passed Hongkong in the number of matches won in the series by defeating the Colony by two goals to one at Sookunpoo yesterday.
Out of 12 Interport matches played, Macao has now won five and Hongkong four while four games were drawn.
Although Hongkong lost the coveted Interport match, the home side came out the belter on the whole in the two-day hockey festival between the two Colonies. On Tuesday, the Hongkong schoolboys scored a 3-1 win over the Macao school- boys, but honours in the match between the teams representing the Rest of Macao und Hongkong were shared with each side scoring three goals.
In the curtain raiser to the Interport match yesterday, the Hongkong ladies' team proved their superiority in no uncertain manner, notching eight goals without reply.

Or the sires in the British Isles whose two-year-olds ran for the first time last season, Alycldon and The Cobbler, share top honours, for their offspring each won eight races.
Their ability to hit harder, not only in deferice but also at the gual, and more constructive play gave the Hongkong Indies a clear advantage over their opponents. Hagkong were three goals up in the first 13 minutes of play. Inside-left Suzanne Hewson gave two goals. Hilary Hale notched the third geal with a first-time glance to a cross centre from right-wing Stella Corren.
