Berlin, Oct. 6. East German police today cordoned off the Soviet

Em-

bassy, less than 250 yards from West Berlin's "frontier," where Nikolal Shvernik, Chairman of the Praesidium of the Suprtane Soviet, is staying.

He is in Berlin for tomorrow's third anniverary of the found- ing of the East German Re- public, to bo observet with masa porades and meetings.
