India's economy is still in the red but is getting more stable all the time, Government economists report.

Outlining prospects for the rest of 1952, a Finance Ministry review says the country has passed its toughest post-independence tests and "the position is likely to record a considerable improvement during the next few months."

The study lists a balance of trade deficit for the! first five months of the year totailing 1,630,000,000- Rupees, a continuation of the adverse trend in the last half of 1951.
