Why Fred Trueman Has Kept His 'Devil'

Critics of the so-called lack of young talent in county cricket often argue that it is due to National Service taking youngsters away for two years when they would be gaining first-class experience.

Possibly many promising players are handicapped by a lack of opportunities. but recent events indicate that this does not apply so much to fast bowlers.
