Russians Challenge Turkey's Free Style Wrestling Supremacy
Helsinki, July 20,
Russia today challenged Turkey's free style wrestling supremacy in the first round of the Olympic tournament. Russia and Turkey each won three matches and lost one-to each other.
A tough Soviet lightheavy- weight, August Engins, beat the Turk, Adil Atan, after a de- sperate scrop in which they once crushed completely out of the ring and over some adjoining tables.
Experts here consider Englas a formidable rival to the defend- Ing champion, Henry Witten berg, of the United States.

THE GENTLEMEN HAVE IN THEIR DAY ADOPTED VARIOUS SUBTERFUGES

The most time-honoured of all representative cricket fixtures is the match between Gentlemen and Players. This year's match will be played at Lord's, commencing on July 23.
The first game in the series was played in 1806 and since then there have been 250 encounters between the amateurs and the paid ranks of which the Players have won 113 and the Gentlemen 65. There have been 71 drawn games and one tie-at the Oval in 1883.
