PLAN

FOR COMMUNIST INFILTRATION INTO MOROCCO

New York, Nov. 19.

The New York Times reported today that a detailed plan for Communist infiltration in French Morocco, where six-new French-American military air bases are nearing completion, was discovered yesterday.

The plan had been intercepted by the French authorities, the report, by Kenneth Campbell, said.

The report added, "The plan in there are several thousand included instructions from members of the United States Etienne

APATHY OVER THE EMPIRE

Ignorance Of The British People

London, Nov. 19. The apathy of the British people towards the history of their Empire was de- plored in London yesterday by Mr G. Kitson Clark, a specialist in Imperial his- tory at Cambridge Univer- sity.

Addressing a meeting of the Royal Empire Society, he quoted examination figures covering, the scuth of England which showed that, on average, only 21 students had taken Imperial History in the Higher School Certifleate during the past four years.

This serious symptom of apathy, Mr Kitson Clark said, was due to a feeling of bewilderment and ignorance on the part of British prople. He stressed that the only way to overcome it was to put over the true facts of history in 20th century language and to avoid boring official phraseology ut all costs,

"Ignorant, but well-meaning Americans have a bad influence on us", Mr Clark continued.

"They delight in using fre- quently such dangerous words 1s 'Imperialism and Coloni- alism'
