ATHENIAN LEAGUE WANTS ITS TOUR WEEK POSTPONED

Owing to commitments in the FA Amateur Cup and County Senior Cup Competitions, the Athenian League, which has accepted an invitation to send a soccer team here, has requested that the date of their visit be post- poned to the first week in May next.

This was revealed at a meeting of the Interport Committee of the Association yesterday.

OPPOSITION

By "GRANDSTAND"

Over the last week-end, two teams had the sad experience of losing their first game in the current season, thus spoiling their clean record of successes, the first being the Squaws, who bowed to the Wahoos in the Ladies' League, the other being the Delawares who were surprised by the Griffins in the Junior Softball League.

Teams enjoying winning streaks at the moment are U.S. Navy (Senior "B") Blackhawks (Junior) and Wahoos (Ladies), but all three outfits will face heavy opposition this week which may see more victims falling before all-out efforts, In the meantime, the cellar dwellers in all four Leagues remain winless.

Taking advantage of the Public Holiday on Monday, the Management Com- mittee of the Softball Association have re-scheduled several called-off games, result- ing in a busy period at King's Park over the Holidays..
