Why we say Bang on!
The origin of this ex- clamation is already be- coming lost although coin- ed, like a great many others, by the RAP during the last war. The full expression was "bang on the targets" and meant that bombs had been seen
to burst on the required target, but "bang!" has now come to be a general expression of pleasure, like "Hooray!”

This match, between those traditional rivals, the Soldiers and the Sailors, should prove to

In recent years, the Army has held the leading place in the Furces fifteens, mostly because of the inability of the Navy to provide a settled team owing to the coming and going of its various ships on their patrols, etc. in nearby troubled waters.
This year however, the Navy 15 rather mor fortunate in having some of 's stars berthed ashore In HMS "Tamar."
