On World's Free Markets
London, Oct. 1.
Gold prices broke on the world's free markets today, following Friday night's announcement by the International Monetary Fund that it will no longer try to suppress the free market.
The so-called European free price, which was $40.50 on Friday morning, fell to $38.50.tonight. The premium over the official price of $35 has thus been slashed by more than a third.
