MAN CHARGED WITH MURDERING AGED WIDOW

The death of a 76-year-old widow in Kowloon in November last year was recalled when Wong Chun-wing, allas Wong Man-cheung, 43, a North- erner, appeared before the Chief Justice, Sir Gerard Howe, in the Criminal Sessions this morning charged with her murder.

Wong is alleged to have murdered Lai Neung at Hut No. 67, Homuntin Village, Kowloon, on November 12, 1950.

The Prosecution alleges that deceased

In a statement in answer to charge of murder, accused is alleged to have said, "It was I who murdered her."

An application for leave to adduce further evidence was granted by the Full Court this morning in an appeal brought by the Civil Air Trans- port Incorporated against the judgment of the Chief Justice, Sir Gerard Howe, dismissing their claim to possession of 44 aircraft held by the Cen- tral Air Transport Corporation and grounded at Kai Tak airfield. The appeal is being heard before Mr Justice Gould, Senior Puisnė Judge, and Mr Justice Scholes.
