when Mr Kent Cooper, Executive Director of the A. P., made n presentation

Directors at which Mr Cooper wos guest of honour,

He was welcomed by Lord Rothermere, Chairman of the Newspaper Proprietors Associa- ton, who paid tribute to Mr Cooper's help In the develop- ment of the present Reuters or- ganisation. "Since Lon

Mr Cooper, in reply, sald no know that the friendship "be- tween these two great news agencies" would bo losting. Ife added that "probably the greatest thing in my life has been this fine relationship that has now developed during my lifetime between the Associat- ed Press and Reuters".

He considered his presence at the Reuters centenary as the greatest honour that had ever been given him.
