England's Most Prosperous TURNS OUT
Little Working Girl Is Coming Home On A Visit
COMING home from Hollywood on vísit this month is England's most prosperous little work- ing girl, Kathryn Beau- mont.
Kathryn - daughter of BBC bandleader Ken Beau- mont-is working her way through film contract which began at £70 a week and rises to £350.

She will be home in time for her 13th birthday.
Accompanying Miss Beau- mont is Walt Disney, the man who is paying her all that

Disney picked her when she was staying in Holly- wood with her mother as the ideal Voice for Alice in his production of "Alice in Wonderland" - which has been four years in the mak- ing.
When London and New York see the completed Alice simul- taneously this summer, Disney thinks she will jump to fame- and
prove to be worth
that £350 week.
She will have to do it with her voice alone. Although she was made up as a most attrac- tive Alice and acted the entire part before the cameras,

Rachmaninoff's wonderful Piano Concerto No. 2, which he described in New York some years ago as the best work he ever did, is laced into the folds of a modern ballad entitled "September Song" to provide the back- ground for Joun Fontaine's new picture "September Affair.”
Only the third movement of the concerto is heard, and its theme is repeated over and over again, until, as a climax to the film, it is heard in all its glory as the curtain descends on a love story based on deceit.
