Fifteen men's and two ladies's teams supplied a day's grand and enjoyable hockey at King's Park yesterday to mark the conclusion of the 1950-1951 local hockey season.

Sharing honours in the carnival were teams representing Ireland, Army and the Club de Recreio.

Ireland and India opened the programme with the International final in the morning, when a record crowd of spectators saw the Irishmen fight back in true Irish tradition from a one goal deficit to win the match by two goals to one.

The afternon saw the Navy and Recreio ground swarming with players and enthusiasts as the men's knock-out competition and the ladies' tournament final went under way, and successfully concluding with the distribution of prizes just be- fore the "Thunderbolts" gave vent to their feelings with peals of thunder for being the only champion team that were not awarded a trophy.
