Ireland and India opened the programme with the International final in the morning, when a record crowd of spectators saw the Irishmen fight back in true Irish tradition from a one goal deficit to win the match by two goals to one.
The afternon saw the Navy and Recreio ground swarming with players and enthusiasts as the men's knock-out competition and the ladies' tournament final went under way, and successfully concluding with the distribution of prizes just be- fore the "Thunderbolts" gave vent to their feelings with peals of thunder for being the only champion team that were not awarded a trophy.
