By "ARGONAUT”

A long overdue step towards the promotion of badminton in Hong- hong was at last taken by the Badminton Association at their Council meeting last week, when they unanimously decided to send in an application to Government for a piece of land large enough to erect a hall that can contain three badminton courts,

The shortage of courts in the Colony has been undoubtedly the greatest im- pediment to the growth of this pleasant game that has taken its place as the major weekday sport during the winter months.

There are at least over a thousand active players at present, utilising what- ever facilities are available to them, but deserving of greater consideration are the countless other keen followers of the game. without any facilities at all. The provision of three courts at a nominal hourly rental will not only swell the number of participants of the game, but will undoubtedly encourage the formation of increasing number of badminton teams which will take part in the Association League.
