On the roads in the North of England these days there may be seen many new ex port models, not on their way to the ports but in the hands of lucky local owners who have ordered them perhaps only a week or two previous-

ly.

The answer lies in the existence. of the extensive United States Air Force base near Warrington, Lanes, and the operations of the Ameriam services' Post Exchange | through which the U.S. personnel enn acquire British cars at the British basic price (less Purchase Tax), paid in dollars.
