GOVERNMENT'S FATE Consequences

MAY DEPEND ON TOMORROW'S TALKS Meeting of Parliamentary Labour Party in London

London, February 26,

As the Prime Minister, Mr. Clement Attloc, planned his new Cabinet today, observers predicted that the fate-of-his Government may hang on the reactions to the Election deadlock at the Parliamentary Labour Party meeting on Wednesday.

The left wing, headed by the Minister of Health, Mr. Aneurin Bevan, is likely to insist that there must be no compromise on the party pro- gramme for the sake of maintaining shaky office.

Mr. Bevan, who pressed consistently for the nationalisation of stool, is said;

to have threatened to resign if Labour goes back on its 1945 pledge to transfor this industry to public ownership.
