Modern Muesum of Arte, Mr. James Plaut, Doston, Mr. George Atout, of Worcester, Massachusetts, and Mr. Bheldon Kack, of the Brooklyn Museum, studled the picture, made various texts and declared that they wore unwilling to accept the painting a An original Van Gogh Reuter.

Mr. William Groon, President of the American

Foderation of Labour, drow frequent applauso from the Froo World Labour Conforanco haro today when he pledged his union to the now International and declared that American workers are prepared át any cost to win tho battle for human welfare, decency and de- mocracy.

Denying that Marshall Aid aims at the capitalist control of needy countries, he said: "We do not want to dictate the politics of any recipient nation. Our unswerving ideals for peace put this responsibility upon us all. We want to make peace-loving nations strong and prosperous."

Of President Truman's now famous "Point Four" pro- gramme for economic as- sistance to under-developed countries, he added: "We will not allow this to become A new honeymoon for ex- ploitation."

Не

warned the Conference that the grent unions of the world are now facing a conspiracy to destroy them, and urged a strong International.

"We are ready to give our all to such a movement." he de- clared, adding that tho trade unjon movement could tend the world to peaco.

He ridiculed promises of eco- nomic security offered on So- viet principles. "Social security and forced inbour are the very opposite of each other." he said. "When labour Is not free to forge the weapons for its Im- provement there is no security."

Comparing the lot of the Amertean workers with that of Russuun labour in the "nd-called Soviet paradise," Mr. Green
