(Editor's Note: This is the twelfth of a series of pictorini features to acquaint the general publie with the numerous types of small native craft operating in loent còters and their cried waage. Through the courtesy of the Marine Department it has been possible to identify them individually and obtain the neces- sary particulars.)
It was the "Sok Koo Chai” or purse seiner-e small sailing fishing native craft af about 24 feet long and 10 feet wide with a capacity of 120 piculs that was instrumental in assisting the, escape from the Colony into Free China of many prisoners of war and internees during the Pacific hostilities.
