Fire Breaks Out On Luxury Liner

The unsealing of a vault containing 3,000 gates of liver coins for the Chinese Nationalist Government aboard the st. President Wilson yesterday was

marred by fire. Sparks from the acetylene lamp used to open the vault Ignited paper and copra in the No. 3 hold where about 2,000 baga of copra were stored.

The fire, which started at about 10.30 a.m., smouldered Il lato last night, while the copra was hauled out from the smoking hold, to enable the fire-fighters to tread the source.
