Eisler Fails Gerhard In Appeal For Bail COUNSEL'S ARGUMENT

Gerhard Eisler, German-born American Communist, was today re- manded by London's Bow Street Court, hearing extradition proceedings, until May 24,
When the proceedings opened, Eisler sat in the dock cleaning his horn-rimmed glasses as Detective-Inspector William Bray, of Scotland Yard, gave evi- dence of his arrest from the Polish liner Batory off Southampton on Satur- day.
