An Ordinance to consolidate the law relating to the Dis- trict Watch Force will have its First Reading in Legislain six weeks, tive Counell today.

One of the clauses of the Bill gives a District Watchmon all the powers and privileges of a con- stable of the Police Force.

The Bill repents the District Watch Force Ordinance of 1930 and includes a new constitution of the District Watch Force.

One clause provides for the up- plication of the Ordinance to all persons who, at the cominence- ment of the Ordinance, are serv- ing in the District Watch Forer. Clause vests In the Secretary for Chinese Affairs the supreme direction and administration of the Force subject to the orders and control of the Governor.

Clauses 18 10 21. inclusive, deals with the discipline of the Force.
