An Ordinance to consolidate the law relating to the Dis- trict Watch Force will have its First Reading in Legislain six weeks, tive Counell today.

One of the clauses of the Bill gives a District Watchmon all the powers and privileges of a con- stable of the Police Force.

The Bill repents the District Watch Force Ordinance of 1930 and includes a new constitution of the District Watch Force.

Clause vests In the Secretary for Chinese Affairs the supreme direction and administration of the Force subject to the orders and control of the Governor.
