London, Apr. 7.

Sir Stafford Cripps' imposition of a special lovy on income investments was the main target for criticism by the Opposition in the House of Commons today when the debate on the Budget was resumed.

The chief Opposition speaker today, Mr. Harry Crookshanks, a former Finnancial Secretary of the Treasury, said this "capital levy" would have a bad effect upon savings.

It would be advantageous to the "financial spiv" who had 6-27/11 kept his money liquid as against

genuine thrifty savers.
