VEDIC RITES FOR GANDHI Ashes To Be Immersed In Holy Waters
Pilgrimages To Birla House
New Delhi, Feb. 1.
The ashes of Mahatma Gandhi will tomorrow be put in a clay bowl and during the next few days will be immersed in the holy waters of the Rivers Ganges and Jumna where they meet at Allahabad. Immersing the ashes is in accordance with customary Vedic rites.
It is believed that a fitting national memorial will be built at Rajghat where the Mahatma was cremated.
