VEDIC RITES FOR GANDHI Ashes To Be Immersed In Holy Waters
Pilgrimages To Birla House
New Delhi, Feb. 1.
The ashes of Mahatma Gandhi will tomorrow be put in a clay bowl and during the next few days will be immersed in the holy waters of the Rivers Ganges and Jumna where they meet at Allahabad. Immersing the ashes is in accordance with customary Vedic rites.
It is believed that a fitting national memorial will be built at Rajghat where the Mahatma was cremated.

Paalit Nehra, the Prime Minis ter, was among the several thou-

The ear in which the Prime Minder arrived was followed by a ferp with four armed pollee-

At Pore he look off his sandals and laid a small bouquet of roses and a wreath on the pyre, after words bowing towards it.
Everything inside the room was polles. There was a picture of the Mahatmin en afle colton- covered mattress where he used to squat and sleep.
