GOLD PRICE INCREASE IN SIX MONTHS FORECAST Mining Costs On Down Trend

London, Sept. 22. High British quarters, who originally denied any rise in the sterling price of gold "in the fore- seeable future," thought on Aug. 20 (when an- nouncing sterling's Inconvertibility) that a higher gold price might come "In a couple of years," and now informally intimate "about six months."

Certainly, when the new Orange Free State gold- field comes into production, gold's selling price is likely to be higher than now, with strong indications that production costs may then be lower, and that the new goldfield may have the best of both worlds, besides its great geological promise.
